Alamo Cafe in San Antonio

Excellent service! Our waitress was so nice and attentive. The avocado enchiladas were AMAZING! I had a great experience here.

Welcoming while practicing all of covid guidelines. Ate at an outside table by the water pond. Shady, breezy beautiful view and day.I love Alamo Cafe beef fajita ponchos!

They've gone down in quality of food. I brought family from out of state to experience real Mexican food. I feel I should've taken them elsewhere. The server, Aleesha, was great. But they got our order messed up. Delivered food to our table that belonged to table next to ours. Then messed up our own order.

Absolutely worth every pennie. Mandy (our to-go specialist) was so helpful and got our 350$ order completely correct. Kudos Alamo Cafe for making our baby shower a sucess. Would recommend to anyone looking for large orders.

Very crowded place the hustle and bustle you would think the food was good. Wrong the only good thing is the endless tortillas. The fajitas had no flavor. Lacked seasoning Taco cabana has better fajitas. The boracho beans tasted like pinto beans from a can no effort put in. I don't know what the buzz was about . Must be the drinks because the food needs work .The restaurant looks nice and very pretty inside and out, and the service was the best thing there.

Delicious, handmade corn and flour tortillas. The best carne guisada ever ! Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Using proper COVID precautions.

Fun environment and the iced tea was phenomenal. The enchilada sauce was really not that good. I would not get them again. The rice was good but the refried beans were bland.

This is one of our favorite places to eat when we visit San Antonio. The atmosphere is really nice and the food is great! The service has always been really good and they make the tortillas fresh in house. The salsa for the chips is a little spicy but tastes great. If you are in the area definitely stop by!

Food and service was below expectations. Staff were courteous.

They have the best salad. I suggest you try the southwest chicken Cobb salad

Jersey girl visiting Texas for a work conference and a local friend said Alamo was a must do. Loved the vibe of the place and friendly staff. Tortillas were definitely my favorite part. Super fresh and delicious, and I even buttered it (something we don't do in Jersey) and it was super good. Puffy tacos are my new favorite thing!

From The Alamo Bldg. goes to Alamo Cafe.! So Amazing. Base on my experience and about the food. They deserve 5 star. Super Good Good food specially the chips and Tortillas are free. Freshly cook and Hot while waiting for your order.

Best Tex Mex is all of San Antonio, maybe all of Texas. Service is good too. They make their own flour tortillas fresh on site and they're fantastic. You can even get them to go in bags at the to go counter. Great bar area too. Good to have a beer or three and some free chips and salsa.

I have been going to these restaurants in San Antonio for as long as I can remember. For over 20 years I can honestly say I've never left this restaurant dissatisfied. The food was the very definition of incredible, the staff was friendly and always checking in on us and this location has an amazing design that keeps you coming back. Do yourself a favor and if you haven't eaten here go ASAP!

I love this place. But about 30% of the time, there are issues with take out (which is what I do most of the time). Today was not good. I placed on line order about an hour in advance. I wanted it ready at 6:30. I got there about 6:35. Told them about 5 min later when someone came to my window I was there. 15 min later after all the cars around me had picked up and left and new cars were already leaving, I told one of the staff to check on my order. Finally the guy came back out and said there SA mix up in the kitchen. Sounded like they have my food to someone else. After 35 min, I finally got my food. One of the worst pickups I've had from this restaurant. Previous screw ups have usually just been missing or one item wrong in the order. This was just disappointing because they had plenty of time to have it ready and correct. But overall, always good food!

Christmas Eve was busy. Attentive and pleasant staff. Food was brought quick and tasted great. It may become a Holiday tradition.

5 Stars for the service, 0 stars for the food! If you're looking for somewhere to take the family, skip this restaurant, the kids won't like what they get. By if service is your pet peeve, Alamo is top notch. My drink never made it to half empty, and for a party of 14, we were seated and served very fast and well. The waitress was simply incredible and friendly, but the food was bland, and let me down in the worst way. I was ready for San Antonio cuisine at its finest, and ended up feeling like I was eating airline food. Atmosphere is 5 stars as well, very roomy and beautiful, but I can't get past how awful the food was.

Man the home-made tortillas are amazing. Pair that with the queso, and you basically have a meal already. I had the beef fajitas and man, it was fantastic! Great flavor and came out doing the required fajita "sizzle" with appropriate aroma. Definitely recommended.

Alamo Cafe was very clean and staff following mask mandate, Friendly and knowledgeable waitress and cheerful servers.... Wasn't to thrilled with the Chili Rejenos ask for just Cheese and got a Pepper grilled in batter with a tomatoee sauce with very little cheese, but my daughter and her boyfriend really like their dishes with no complaints.... One was the Shrimp Salad.... We'll be back to try some other dishes....

Had a very cordial server. He was hilarious and did a great job taking care of us. Great choice to meet up with an old friend. Reasonable prices and quality food.

PI have been coming to this place as long as I can remember. I'm happy to have been able to get out with a girlfriend. It wasnt too crowded. Things were well spaced. I felt safe, and the food was good too!

Our favorite Tex-Mex place. We stop in every time we're in San Antonio. Everything is really good, but their standout is their fresh made tortillas and Chile con Queso dip. Liquid Gold!

Wow! A great meal. My wife and I both had the chicken avocado salad with lime vinaigrette. Very fresh and super yummy. My daughter loved the burrito dinner and highly recommends it. My son had the nachos. They were delicious.Very quick and friendly staff. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Atmosphere was great. They’re tortillas are bomb! I wasn’t a big fan of the Michelada. It was kind of on the bland side. Food was okay. Service was great!

I was going to take food pix but only got the entrance. Once the food arrived I pounced on it like a ravenous wolf, forgetting the pix.Excellent! Had avocado enchiladas with a white sauce of poblanos and cheese. Really yummy. Lacy served us and was awesome. Place is huge, not particularly cozy but if you want great food and service, Alamo is the place to go. My nephew said there's another location that's smaller.

Decided to come here for a bite and let me tell you. The food was out really fast for a sit down restaurant. Given it was on a Monday so I wouldn’t expect there to be much business. Our waiter was an exquisite individual and even recommended something from the menu which by the way was very delicious. Definitely enjoyed the tortillas were soft and you can tell they were made in the back.

Good food but don't expect plastic wear to eat with because even when you ask for it when you order take out, you seldom have it when you get home

Even during the quarantine they kept their service nice and fast. I haven't had an issue with my orders and the staff is always nice even after working all day in masks. I'll always keep going here for the good food and service!

It was tremendous! We had 8 in our party with a 2 year old. Service was great and food was really good.

Wow. Their chicken-fried steak is one of the best. I love their green bean side and the French fried potatoes are great. The service is the best in San Antonio. Their home made tortillas are so awesome you'll want to take some home. Be sure to order a guacamole side for your dish.

I loved this place! The food was delicious and sat outside and the service was great!!

Food was tasty. Entrees were small. Beef fajitas were tough and chewy. ($15.39) A small (teensy) guacamole was $6.99. Charged $2.59 for carbonated water. Our waiter was horrible!!! We spent most of the time waiting.

Dine in service good enough but Togo service is atrocious. Went their to pick up some food and wasn’t greeted for about 5 mins when there were at least 5 employees on the other side of the window talking. When I got the food the server just plopped it down on the counter called my name and walked off. I tried to get attention to ask for some plastic wear which wasn’t in the bag and the server clearly looked at me and and we made eye contact and I was calling for her she looked away to talk to employees and I couldn’t get anyone else’s attention.

I usually get their Enchiladas and hubby gets their Chicken Fried Steak. Also love their Queso.

Came here with my family. Lots of us! No problem at all getting seated. As far as I'm concerned, best TexMex in San Antonio. Great portions, not a bad price.

This Alamo cafe used to be inconsistent and made mistakes like bringing raw tortillas out on several occasions before they renovated and we hadn't been there since. We decided to give it another try the other night though and were pleasantly surprised! Fantastic and quick service with some very tasty food.

Great food. Great professional servers & wait staff. Very knowledgeable & helpful! Will definitely be back next time I'm in San Antonio!

Wish there were more delicious tex-mex places like this where I live in Katy, TX. Tortillas are the beat!

The waitress was awesome. She served us with a smile and a sweet spirit. Very kind. Every time we needed something, she brought it to us, always smiling. We were 13 people with different requests. Great service!!!

We are from the Houston area, and plan out of town trips around coming to eat here. Tortillas are like nothing I've ever had, and the rest of the food is greet too. The ambiance inside is really unique and has a very San Antonio feel to it. Service is fantastic, and you can even go watch them make the tortillas from Heaven. If I had to equate something on earth similar to the Mana that God gave the Jews, its these tortillas.

Always good, not giving out menus but rather having you scan the menu to your phone. Patio was comfortable, good social distancing.
